How it works

Before your shoot

  • Book a date and time that works for you. I’ll get in touch directly with a link for you to pay your shoot fee or get your gift voucher details.

  • We’ll arrange a quick consultation so I can find out more about your dogs as well as any ideas or requirements you have.

  • A trip to the groomers isn’t always necessary but a good brush a few days before your shoot will have your dog looking their best!

During your shoot

  • We’ll work together to capture your dogs charm and personality, using a mixture of toys, fuss and treats.

  • I’ll be relying on you to handle and pose the dog so you’ll have plenty to do!

  • This shoot will be on Slingsby Walk, Harrogate. The location is a good way from the major roads that intersect, though is a well used paved public footpath.

  • High value rewards are an essential part of the shoot, so bring your dogs favourite toy/treats or your best fussing skills!

  • And finally, there’s a fantastic dog-friendly coffee shop (Brew Bar, Harrogate) within a minutes walk for pre/post-shoot drinks and treats

After your shoot

  • You’ll receive an email when you photos are ready for review through my photo gallery platform. This includes the best photos from the shoot as well as a selection of retouches.

  • We’ll arrange the best time for a follow-up call to discuss which photos/frames/prints would work best for you.

FAQ’s

Does my dog need to be well trained?

  • No! It’s no problem to keep your dog on a lead or training line if that keeps everyone relaxed and happy.

My dog can be reactive and I’m worried about keeping them safe

  • My biggest concern on all shoots is keeping dogs happy and safe. I can allow extra time at the location so they can settle as well as advocate for their space where possible. Alternative locations they feel safe in are also an option.

Can I/we/my family be in some of the photos with my dog?

  • Absolutely! We’ll keep things informal, natural and dog-focused.

How will the weather affect my shoot?

  • I’ll check in with you at the beginning of the week, three days before, and the day before with confirmation the weather will work for the shoot.

  • We’ll reschedule in the event of hot weather/intense sunshine, heavy rain or snow, high winds and generally bad weather.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions I’ve not covered!
